This is Born Into Blood, a newsletter, I guess. I write about things that I encountered in my life as a chef, be it my own experiences, the history of food and cooking, or just random bits of history that I’ve come across that deserve to be told. I have strong political views and will always champion the oppressed, underrepresented, or underdog.
Although I come from food and will definitely talk about it, obviously, I’m not going to drop recipes nor host conversations with “the important voices.” There are already many outlets for that. This is something else.
Born Into Blood has several meanings, but most of what I examine is about myself or other people or places (Florida being a favorite topic) that can’t help themselves, they were born into it.
